Volley Bergamo ends Scavaloni's Long Undefeated Run

Volley Bergamo end fellow Italian Scavaloni Pesaro's long unbeaten run in their Champions League match at the Adriatic Arena in Luxemborg.

Bergamo won 3-1 (25-23 21-25 25-22 25-23) in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,500 to inflict Scavaloni's first defeat since March 30 last year.

Bergamo captain Eleonora Lo Bianco starred for the victors, who took a tense first set before Scacaloni drew level. Bergamo then claimed the next two sets to achieve a famous victory.

In the other match of the night, Eczacubasi Zentiva of Turkey beat Polish side Fakro Muszynianka3-1 (25-23 24-26 28-26 25-20)

Mirka Francia top-scored for Eczacubasi with 32 points, while Sylwia Pycia weighed in with 16 points for the defeated Poles.
